Triple Workout Thursday Results in Falling Apart Friday (Not Really)

Interestingly, for a single day, I had a serious blip in my weight–I’ve been between 183 and 185 for awhile now, and suddenly, one day I was up to 190. The only thing out of the ordinary was I had to buy dinner on Wednesday night while on my way to my class rather than my usual smoothie because for some reason the smoothie got dumped into the disposal by someone in my family.

The solution? Well, not really, but since I was planning on it anyway, it became Triple Workout Thursday.

What were the three workouts?

5 am: bike ride for 20 miles (was planning on doing 25 but I needed to get into work a little earlier than usual)–about an hour and 10 minutes.

5 pm: 2 mile run, first mile uphill, second back down.

6:30 pm: swim for an hour in the pool.

Was it easy? Well, it wasn’t awful (although since I dislike running so much I have to play mind tricks on myself to finish), and aside from a bit of cramping during the swim, I didn’t really hurt that night, although I was tired, tired, tired; the next morning I also wasn’t really any more sore than I typically am. I was, however, much more tired–which was in some ways welcome, because I hit the sack early so I could be at work on time.

Am I going to continue Triple Workout Thursday? Quite possibly; it’s the best morning of the week I have for a ride longer than an hour, and since I’m also free in the evening, swimming is in as well. Since we’re not gathering for the swim until 6:30, I have a bit of time between the end of work at 5 pm and the swim time, so running is a real possibility for the dead time.

We’ll see how Triple Workout Thursday continues, especially since it really didn’t lead to Falling Apart Friday!
