My Story, Part Forty Eight
It’s really hot. As I write this, there’s a former hurricane bearing down on us here on my island, so I’m concerned I may not get in the workouts I would otherwise.
Dealing with weather is an issue for anyone, no matter where they live.
I don’t like to ride when it’s wet or rainy, although I’ve started making some exceptions, largely because I’m behind in my training for next month’s century. On the other hand, some days are so hot or so windy–or both–that it’s incredibly appealing to stay in bed rather than get up and ride.
Especially at 5 am.
Tomorrow I need to be up for a 5 am workout again.
It doesn’t matter how hot it is, how windy it is, or how rainy it is. I’m getting a workout in tomorrow because my alternatives are worse–if I don’t get up and work out, then I’m not doing what I can for my physical health, mental health, and sense of self.
Those workouts are not going to get done without me.
