My Story, Part Fifty Two

I’m finally feeling urgency. I have only a bit over a month until the century and I seriously have to get miles in–so I’m finally doing them. I wish I had done this before, but for whatever reason it wasn’t happening. But regular multi hour rides on the weekends are now the norm, and a few weekday rides are going to be as well.

I’m no racer, but I’m getting a bit faster too. My hill climbing, always my weakest spot, is also improving, if not in speed in tolerance–I could sit and not be forced to stand through all but the worst of hills on Sunday’s early ride.

It’s been hard to fit it all in–heck, I still can’t fit in all the training I want–but I think that the approaching ride is giving me the kind of incentive I need to put my nose to the grindstone and just ride, ride, and ride.

Less than six weeks to go!
