Workout Reset

As the century approaches, I’m considering revamping my workout schedule. My thirteen workout a week target is rarely met and even when it is, it seems like I’m not really getting fitter.

I have mixed feelings on how to change things up. I have to figure out what my athletic goals for the last parts of 2009 as well as 2010 are in order to figure out what kind of training schedule would be best. I’d also like to cut down on the exercises hat are likely to hurt me the most–like running. But if one of my goals is to do the Great Aloha Run, I’ll need to run.

I think it’s wise to look at goals–any goals–from time to time to see if what you’re doing is still leading you there.
I need to figure out what I can do–realistically–to better meet my needs and work toward my goals. While I like working out, with all the other commitments I have I’m not sure I can do thirteen workouts in any reliable manner without ignoring other areas of my life or burning myself out.

After next week, it’s a workout reset.
