Focusing on the Next Goal

My next organized event will be a 5K run in December, the week before the marathon, which I won’t be doing.

In American distance, that’s 3.107 miles (or so).

It’s not a long run. But that said, since I’ve been only running two or three times a week and very short (2-4 mile) distances, I still want to do some training.

That’ll be my focus the next few weeks.

If someone hasn’t done any (or much) running before or is horridly out of shape, how do they go about getting in shape? Slowly, but consistently. There’s a nice little online guide I like here called The Couch-to-5K Running Plan which can really help.

I’ll be talking about some of my running here in addition to whatever other working out I do.
