My Story, Part Eighty Three

I’d like to do more. I’m starting over with some of my training and cutting back on my overall effort to keep my heart rate down. I’m doing what’s called building a base of aerobic fitness, and while it’s necessary, it almost feels like I’m slacking off.

I feel like I can go harder, but it’s probably wise for me not to do so. In fact, I’m wondering if some of my struggles with running are due to my going too hard too often. I went for a run today where I kept my heart rate down (more on that later) and it almost felt like I was walking.

I do, however, think that restraint will eventually pay off.

In the meantime, I have a bike ride this afternoon; hopefully I can feel like I’m making a hard effort there today.
