My Story, Part Eighty Six

I’m working really hard and hoping that I’m learning something. I’m on an ambitious workout schedule and I’m seriously watching my diet; in fact, I’m also testing my sugars before and after meals as I try to figure out what will raise my sugars and what won’t.

I usually run four days a week now: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with Sunday being my long run; I ride four days a week as well: Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Saturday, with Saturday being my long ride. However, due to the craziness of my post Christmas schedule, I ended up today with both a long run (of seven miles) and a long ride (of 45 miles). Combined with what I’m currently trying to do with my heart rate (keep it down for the majority of my training), these were long, slow events today.

But they got done, and I actually feel pretty decent tonight, especially after icing down my knees.

That said, I don’t plan on doing both of my long days on the same day–but it’s nice to know I can if needed.
