My Story, Part Ninety One
I’m crunching for time, but making it happen. Currently my workout schedule is down to “only” eight workouts a week–four runs, four rides–but they’re taking up a bunch of time since I’m trying to do longer and longer runs on Sundays, up to ten miles this week.
Going slowly as my heart rate training is calling for is making those runs eat up large amounts of Sunday time. At a pace of about 15 minutes per mile right now, 10 miles is 150 minutes–two and a half hours! That’s a lot of time.
That said, I am actually doing these, and not hurting as much as I have in the past. Some of these are really the longest training runs I’ve ever done–even when training for the marathon I could barely do six miles before my knees starting giving out. Right now, they’re behaving themselves even if they’re not perfect.
It’s become important enough, between my blood sugars, my weight, and my goals–including Livestrong, of course–to make time to do these, sometimes even at the cost of going to service on Sunday mornings.
I’m making the time, even if it is a crunch.
