My Story Part One Hundred Twenty-Three

I have a certain amount of post ride letdown. The metric century was great in many ways. Hard and challenging but fun and saw some of my favorite Twitter folks then. But it was definitely the best ride I’ve had for awhile.

The issue is I can’t really peak yet.

Lots more to go, a ton of training, a bunch of arrangements more to be made, and a bunch of miles need to be put behind me before I can really say it’s done.

I guess that, in a vague way, finishing a long event that’s non-terminal is like delivering a baby. You’ve hit a milestone that you’ve worked very hard for and spent a long time anticipating–only to realize the hard work has just begun.

I’ll see you on the road this weekend.
