Honolulu Marathon Report
It’s been more than a week and I’m more than recovered from my second Honolulu Marathon.
I was actually pretty well recovered the next day.
To start with, the finish–two of the best things I experienced this year were no injuries and finishing. My two goals.
And in fact, not only did I not injure myself, I also had no blisters nor any chafing of significance either. And while I got slightly sunburnt, I didn’t have heat stroke–and really just only a touch of heat exhaustion.
So in so many ways, the marathon was truly a success.
In terms of time, the best news is that I was an hour faster than my 2008 marathon effort (when I did injure myself): 7:49:50 vs. 8:46:25.
Of course, the less than best news is that this is still anemically slow. But the only person I race is me.
And so I won, because I finished.
