This past Thursday was a Twitter Fun Run in Honolulu; my buddy Jenn has already blogged about the run so I won’t go into that. I participated, but I’ve cut down on my running for awhile.

Why?

To try to avoid injury.

That said, as soon as these two centuries are over, I’m going to really pick up the running.

My Story, Part One Hundred Fifty One

I’m nervous. I’ve been riding but the long rides have largely escaped me, in part due to weather and in part due to the craziness of the last few work weeks. But I’ve put in a lot of miles and I think I’ll do fine. There’s still a lot of things to do before I […]

Going For the Good

My life is not a movie (although sometimes it has tons of drama–like way too much), so my going up to Philadelphia for Livestrong is not for a gold medal. It’s just to do the right thing, to help fight cancer, and to have a great time. I just hope I’ve trained enough. [ad#Google Adsense]

I’m beaten down, but I’m getting up. The past two weeks at work have been absolutely horrible, and I’m getting up so late and so stressed that I’m not feeling like doing anything but the minimum. I’m trying to reverse that. I have only a little over a week before I head out to Philadelphia, […]

I’m down to days before heading over to Philadelphia for the Livestrong Challenge. So far, it’s gone well beyond my wildest dreams. I’ve raised over $1500 and counting. I’ve gotten tons of support from folks online and in real life. And I’ve had a blast training. Now comes the time to hunker down, get the […]

The weather is making me batty. Instead of being able to go on my final training rides in the past few days, the rain has prevented me from doing much in the way of outdoor exercise. It’s enough to drive me crazy. I’m hoping things improve so I can get in at least one or […]

I’m Tired… Work Out

It was a horrible work week. It was also a horrible workout week. And not the best diet week either. I met an online acquaintance on Monday night–a usual workout night–to talk blogging, so that day was a loss; on Tuesday, when I usually work my second job but haven’t because I’ve run out of […]

My Story Part One Hundred Forty Eight

I’m resting, maybe too much. It was such a hard week last week that Saturday I could barely get any exercise in–I was in a catch 22 of feeling so tired and weary I didn’t have the energy to ride, but in order to get more energy, I had to work out. So I finally […]

When More Equals More

When it comes time to build mileage while training for a ride or a run, there’s no substitute for it. Yes, there is cross training, and there is treadmill running and stationary cycling, but these things are not the same as being out on the road in the sport you’ll be competing in. I can […]
